The feature of this bag is an intricate turquoise butterfly machine-embroidered on a field of unbleached cotton, then framed in blue.
Description: This is a moderate-sized bag, on or off shoulder, capable of carrying a tablet, bottle of water, tissues, keys, glasses and a magazine. The bag is quilted front and back, and fully lined, for strength and texture. The back fabric features a pattern of little navy owls. The lining is a mottled light turquoise. The navy straps are padded and quilted, with a decorative embroidery stitch along the centre - again for strength but also for comfort.
Technique: The butterfly was stitched using an embroidery machine, onto a padded unbleached cotton. (We wont go into how long it took me to get it to stitch properly...) It was then backed by another layer of padding, to include the frame. The frame was quilted. The back is also padded and quilted. The bag was constructed from cotton fabrics, with synthetic padding and embroidery.
Bag Details: The bag is 32 x 30.5 cm, and the handles are 55.5 x 4 cm. The bag can be washed in cold water, and dried in the shade. If ironing is required, the use a setting suitable for synthetics, not cotton, on the embroidered parts. If I've missed any threads, just snip them off flat with the surface.
