I've been experimenting with making a wooden hinge. And I love the result. I made the hinge from Rosewood timber, it is recessed into the box 3mm. The rest of the box is made from very old Red Cedar and Bolly Silkwood. Lovely finish all round, this box holds ten of your rings and adequate compartment for other bits and pieces of your favourite jewellery.
Lovely padded velvet provides nice cushioning for your items. Overall size is 250mm x 140mm x 70mm.
Finished with my own homemade blend of Danish Oil and wax gives a lovely finish.
As always I will post this box to anywhere in Australia at my expense.
