Description

The Sugar Glider has rich, thick grey fur and a long fluffy tail. A membrane stretches between wrist and ankle to allow them to travel from one tree to another without reaching the ground. They like sweet sap and nectar (hence their name), but also eat insects when available. Being nocturnal they have relatively large eyes.

Description: This is a small cross-body bag showing a Sugar Glider, mid-glide. It is suitable for carrying a tablet, phone, wallet and keys. The strap can be shortened by knotting at the shoulder, to form a shoulder bag.. The bag is quilted front and back, and fully lined, for strength and texture. The back fabric features a geometric pattern. The lining is blue on blue flowers. The navy straps are padded and quilted, with a decorative embroidery stitch along the centre - again for strength but also for comfort.

Technique: The sugar glider was stitched using an embroidery machine, onto a padded pale, mottled mauve cotton. It was then backed by another layer of padding, to include the frame. The frame was quilted. The back is also padded and quilted. The bag was constructed from cotton fabrics, with synthetic padding and embroidery thread.

Bag Details: The bag is 25.5 x 25 cm, and the handles are 107 x 3.5 cm. The bag can be washed in cold water, and dried in the shade. If ironing is required, then use a setting suitable for synthetics, not cotton. If I've missed any threads, just snip them off flat with the surface.
