Description
The 'Planted' original artworks are currently part of the 'Finding My Way' exhibition at Crossway LifeCare. They will be on display there until the end of Term 1. Any purchases can be collected after this time.
For any exhibited art sold, thirty-percent of the sales price will support the important work of LifeCare.
Often I paint the background first. With this diptych (two canvases that make up one artwork), I thought that's what I was doing. But as I followed my intuitive process, the background became the foreground - organically shaped petals overlapping each other, with a level of transparency. Subtle colour differences that you'll notice more in real life.
The mottled colours of the background provide depth, light and shade. Final splashes add contrast, motion and unpredictability.
I pondered the time it took for this painting to emerge, the growth in me across the process, and, of course, the clear image of a flower. Growth happens when we're planted, in good soil, being watered...where am I planted? Where are you planted?
The finer details:
Acrylic on canvas
Size: Two x 90x60cm canvases, framed in timber frames that have been varnished with clear varnish.
The artwork has been signed by the artist, Kym Corn, on the bottom right hand corner. Hanging wire securely in place for hanging. The art is sealed with archival varnish to promote the longevity of the work.
All original artwork comes with a signed certificate of authenticity.
Please be aware that while I do my utmost to ensure photograph colours represent the actual colours of the artwork, differences in phone and computer screens may mean differences in colour representation.
