Proudly printed in Melbourne on 100% recycled paper, these greeting cards were designed by and feature original artwork by Brona Sparkes, in Lake Macquarie NSW.
The unique illustration on this beautiful card is based on the Celtic Shield Knot, and incorporates design elements inspired by the ancient Stone Age tombs of Ireland. The knot was painted in acrylic on canvas, before being photographed and incorporated into the card design. Inside, the card includes a short note about the meaning behind the cover artwork, but is otherwise blank for your own message.
The note inside the Celtic Shield Knot card reads:
”The cover artwork is based on the Celtic Shield Knot, an ancient symbol displayed on shields and on battlefields to ward off enemies, or hung outside homes to protect the inhabitants from evil. The patterns decorating the knot are inspired by the stone carvings of Ireland’s Stone Age tombs.”
