Paint with me?
The Calm in the Storm pieces found their beginnings alongside 'Finding My Way'. I painted the background in payne's grey, gum blossom red, gold highlights - allowing the colours to flow and the edges to blend. Then, for such a long time - over a year - I couldn't figure out what their next layer needed to be.
I got brave and picked them up again and started, first, to balance the tones. Then I couldn't resist more big sweeping lines and movements that are beginning to become familiar in my work. I love the areas of thick paint that fades into nothing, the lines, the blends and the contrasts. This feels finished.
The finer details:
Mixed media on canvas.
Size: 16x20 inches (40x50cm). When framed 54x43.5cm. Framed in a beautiful blonde solid timber frame.
Strung with framer's wire in two directions that allow for hanging in portrait or landscape orientation depending on your preference.
Signed by Kym Corn, the artist, on the back of the piece.
Sealed with archival varnish to promote longevity of the work.

Please be aware that while I do my utmost to ensure photograph colours represent the actual colours of the artwork, differences in phone and computer screens may mean differences in colour representation.
